The artists we’ve hand-picked to play our showcase are some of our favorites on the cutting edge of the country music scene, both in and out of Nashville. For several years, Midland has charmed audiences with their bluesy mix of 90s country twang and countrypolitan suaveness; they stood out as neo-traditional advocates long before it was cool. With only two songs out so far, Tucker Wetmore is already one of the most viral artists around, with his song “Wine Into Whiskey” making the rounds on TikTok and charting on the Billboard Hot 100 all-genre chart.
Even with no songs released to streaming as of yet, Kashus Culpepper has regularly sold out just about every show he’s played so far and has quickly become one of the most in-demand singer-songwriters on the indie-country scene. Currently, he’s playing a few select dates with Charles Wesley Godwin and is set to hit the road this summer with traditionalist maestro Charley Crockett.
Maggie Antone has been one of our favorite acts to come out of Appalachia in the last couple of years. She first broke out with her sublime cover of Tyler Childers’s “Lady May.” Since then, listeners have watched her bloom into a savvy, independently-minded songwriter with outstanding cuts like “Suburban Outlaw” and “I Don’t Wanna Hear About It.”
