This morning, Cole Chaney posted a cryptic image on Instagram with the caption “5-30-25.” The picture features a green stick figure with a hook-like shape extending from its head—almost resembling a question mark, with the head forming the dot at the bottom. Since fans have waited a good four years since his last proper LP, it feels a lot like a teaser for new music.

Chaney hasn’t released any new material since his 2022 OurVinyl Sessions project. Aside from that, his only full-length album, Mercy, was well received by country fans, with tracks like “Coleshooter” and “Another Day in the Life” resonating deeply with listeners. Chaney’s songwriting is a key factor in his appeal. Though his audience may be modest in size, his fans recognize the depth and storytelling woven into his music, qualities that have laid a strong foundation for whatever comes next. The long gap between releases has likely given him time to craft more material with the same emotional weight and lyrical richness.
