Charles Wesley Godwin has announced that his newest EP, Lonely Mountain Town, will be released on February 28th, and the lead single, ” It’s the Little Things,” will be available this Friday.
Seventeen months after the release of his last album, Family Ties, Godwin is teaming up with longtime producer and collaborator Al Torrence. The project also features songs with BigLoud labelmate ERNEST, Scott Avett of the Avett Brothers, and a co-write with Wyatt Flores. Godwin has been exploding in popularity since the release of Family Tieswith appearances on Colbert, Kimmel, CBS “Saturday Sessions,” and even ESPN’s Sports Center.
This project is designed to be quieter and more contemplative than some of his last projects. “These are character songs,” Godwin explains. “Most of them aren’t about my life. They’re just little pieces that I’ve taken from traveling.”
Godwin’s headlining winter tour will begin this week, with multiple dates sold out. He’s also been announced as a participant in the “Outlaw Music Festival” with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan. He’ll also be hitting the West Coast road supporting The Avett Brothers.
